Katherine Virginia Dawson, 79, passed away on February 14, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Dawson lived in Prince William County for over 65 years. She was born in Fairfax, Virginia.
Mrs. Dawson loved The Lord. She enjoyed attending Hatcher's Memorial Baptist Church in Brentsville. She enjoyed flowers and loved the beach, especially Virginia Beach. She had a green thumb and could make anything grow. Most of all she loved her family.
Mrs. Dawson is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Russell Dawson, Sr.; her son, Russell Dawson, Jr. and his wife Rebecca, her brothers, Buddy and Kenny Gordon; her sisters, Barbara Ann, Mattie Sue, Karen Lee and Joanne; eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Mary Virginia Carter Gordon; her daughter, Jeannie Virginia Kincheloe; her brother, Walter Gordon; and her sisters, Evelyn, Shirley and Darlene.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Covenant Funeral Service ~ Lee Chapel, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA 20109.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Woodbine Cemetery, Manassas, Va
