Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the First Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Jerry was born on March 8, 1945 to John McClung and Ruby Elizabeth (Leatherman) McClung in Ponca City, OK.
Jerry married Judy Gardner in 1965, although they divorced, they remained lifelong friends.
Jerry was in the National Guard and he was a pressman for the Ponca City Newspaper from 1966 - 1980, then went to work at Conoco as a janitor from 1980-1993. He returned to the Ponca City Newspaper from 1994 - 2009 when he retired. He was a member of the First Christian Church and for a few years drove the bus and brought people to the Friendship Feast.
Jerry never met a stranger, he would talk to anyone, and anyone he talked to loved him and could see what a kind man he was. He was always the type of person who would do anything for anybody. He loved to spend time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. His hobbies included fishing and tinkering with cars and building things. He loved animals. Jerry also loved go to the casino, his dream was always to hit something big.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father John McClung and his mother Ruby Leatherman McClung.
