Homer Sanford Bruce, 84, of Sanford, FL went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2011. He was born in North Monroe, FL on April 9, 1927.

He started working at the age of 16 for Strickland Motors, which became Strickland Morrison, then Jack Prosser Ford and eventually Seminole Ford for 49 years as a mechanic. He had also worked for Royal Crown Cola supervising the maintenance of all their trucks throughout FL.

He was the son of Daniel and Geneva Bruce of DeBary, FL. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Bruce; sons, David (Denise) of Orange City, FL and John (Kimberly) of Osteen, FL; daughters, Shirley Douglas (Bret) and Sheryl Highsmith (Kelly) of DeBary, FL and Michelle Bruce of Deltona, FL as well as 15 grandchildren; Billy, Carissa, Samantha, Michelle, Izabella, Dalton, Jacob, Cody, Lauren, Cameron, Royce, Wyatt, Wade, Bryanne and Caleigh.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church, 519 S. Park Ave., Sanford, FL 32771. Viewing will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 18th and a Memorial Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19th at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Rd. 46A, Sanford, FL 32771.
