Frances was a daughter of Isaac L. Peters and Hannah Jarrett Peters of Jackson Co., West Virginia.
She married Thomas Shimp in Moundsville, West Virginia on Sept. 7, 1890 and resided with him in Moundsville. They had six children, three boys and three girls. Two of the boys died in infancy.

Death Removes Mrs. Shimp, 79

Mrs. Frances H. Peters Shimp, 79, wife of Thomas Shimp, died Tuesday afternoon at 1:10 o'clock in the Glen Dale hospital after a lengthily illness.
She was a member of Calvary church and the Successful Worker's Sunday school class of that church.
Surviving besides her husband, are a son, Clarence of Moundsville; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Kohl and Mrs Laura Horner of Pittsburgh; and Mrs. Amelia Meyer of Cleveland; a sister, Mrs. Nelson Weekly of Moundsville, and a brother C. K. Peters of Dallas, Texas.
The body was removed to the Lutes funeral home.
Services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Lutes chapel by the Rev. J. H. Carson of Grafton, former pastor of Calvary church. Interment will be made in Mount Rose Cemetery.
