Elva J. Crisman, 85, of Templeton, PA, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo.

She was born June 29, 1928 in Kittanning, PA, the daughter of Walter J. and Mary V. (Traister) Unger.

Elva was a lifetime resident of the area and graduated from Union High School in 1947. She worked for Sylvania in Brookville for 10 years as a grid operator and then worked in decorating department at Owens-Brockway in Clarion for 27 years until her retirement in 1991. Elva attended Widnoon United Methodist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, which was associated with Masonic Lodge #522 in New Bethlehem.

Elva was known for being very social and liked talking to other people. For many years she organized the Hawkville School Class Reunion, and she loved her cats, eating out at restaurants and taking vacation to the Outer Banks. Elva loved visiting with her family and friends, and those who knew her will always remember her smile.

Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband of 64 years, Joseph P. Crisman, whom she married on September 3, 1949; daughter, Deborah D. Crisman, of Venus, PA; granddaughter, Nicole Drummond and husband, Andy Philliber, of New Bethlehem; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elva was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, February 24, 2014 at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Riever officiating.

Burial will be in Tidal Union Cemetery, Templeton, Pennsylvania.
