Child of Alexander Bertram Coben & Mary Elda Theresa Alberta Sharpless.

Bert was very active in baseball and played with Perdue and later with the Delisle Gems. He was also well known in curling, winning four Saskatchewan Championships, three with the Massey-Ferguson. In 1973 he played with the Jimmy Hill rink in the Seagrams Seniors in Saint John, New Brunswick.
