Lloyd F. Roubal, 86 years, of North Bend, NE passed away quietly in his home on February 22, 2014.

Lloyd was born August 8, 1927 in Fremont, NE to Frank B. and Ruth (Metzger) Roubal of rural North Bend, NE. He graduated from North Bend High School in 1944. Lloyd embarked on several adventures after high school following the harvest in the spring and then working as a ranch hand in western Nebraska during the winter. He returned home to North Bend to marry Eva L. Flora on August 27, 1950.

He farmed northeast of town, where he grew up. The couple had five children. Along with his family, Lloyd was passionate about education and horses. By the time all his children reached school age, Lloyd became involved as a school board member of District 93. As his children moved up through the grades, he became president of the District 95 school board and assisted his fellow board members ushering in the new North Bend Central Jr.-Sr. High School.

Lloyd was a member of United Presbyterian Church at North Bend and served as a Session member. He was a member of Nebraska Shorthorn Association and an avid horseman, especially enjoying cutting cattle sitting an Arabian. He was known to invite friends and family out to the farm to ride and equally well known for baking kolaches and sharing them with some of his homemade ice cream.

Lloyd is survived by and will be dearly missed by his wife of 63 years, Eva Roubal; son, Phil and Karen Roubal of North Bend; two daughters, Susan Roubal and Lori Sippel, Alane Roubal Vaughn and husband, Doug all of Lincoln; son-in-law, Ken Yount of Fremont; two sisters, Aurzella Thiesen of Cedar Bluffs and Marie Petersen of Fremont; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Dorothy Harrison; and two daughters, Joan Okins and Betty Yount.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at United Presbyterian Church in North Bend with The Rev. Neal Allen officiating. Visitation on Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 PM to 8 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Visitation on Thursday at church 1 hr prior to service. Burial at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend.

Memorials may be given to United Presbyterian Church and the North Bend Central Foundation.
