He was born in Roxboro, N.C., on June 21, 1922, the son of the late Currie A. Pleasant and Thelma Bradsher Pleasant of Fuquay Varina, N.C.
Edward served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. On Dec. 1, 1982, Edward retired from the Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Josie Lefebre Pleasant and his brothers James B. and Frank B. Pleasant.
Edward is survived by two very sepecial nieces, Roxie (Woody) Pleasant Hart and Susan (Harold) Pleasant Vaughan of Fuquay Varina, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
He was also blessed to have loving friends Harold Donovan, Billy and Jody Chavez, and Joan Ouellette.
A memorial service with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Cremation & Funeral Gallery. Inurnment will follow in the Absaroka Beartooth Columbarium located in the chapel at Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
The family wished to thank the staff of St. John's Lutheran Ministries for their compassion and care of Edward.
