Born in Johnson County on April 15, 1884, he was the son of the late Andy and Malinda Jane Stafford Tackett and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Tackett; three sons, Frank and Andy Tackett, of Whitehouse and Dewey Tackett of Waverly, OH, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Puckett of Paintsville and Mrs. Esta Gibson of Piketon, OH. Additional survivors include two brothers, Bud Tackett of Staffordsville and Mose Tackett of Oil Springs; and two
sisters, Mrs. Lillie Richie of Piketon, OH, and Mrs. Bessie
Blanton of Wheelersburg, OH.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 21, in the Hammond
Freewill Baptist Church with Charlie Lemaster, Charles Stapleton, Scott Castle and Vern Conley officiating.
Interment followed in the family cemetery at Whitehouse under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
