Annabelle "Annie" Shilling, 75, of Findlay passed away peacefully after a very brief and brave battle with cancer at 3:45 a.m. on February 21, 2014 at Birchaven Village, Findlay. She was born in Jenera on September 22, 1938, to the late Lester R. and Oleta Grace (Bormuth) Shilling. Annie is survived by her brother, Professor Ronald (Karen) Shilling of New Ulm, MN; sisters: Mary Colburn of Findlay and Marjorie Shilling of Belle Plaine, MN; nieces and nephews: Tim, Tony, and Matt Colburn, David Shilling, and Deborah Peterson; and by great-nieces and great-nephews: Jessica, Garrett, Jack, Adam, Matthew, Chris, Daniel, Nick, and Michael Colburn, Joshua and Emma Shilling, and Ella and Jack Peterson. Annie was also preceded in death by her brother, Lester Shilling, Jr. and by her brother-in-law, Allen Colburn. Annie was a 1956 graduate of Findlay High School. Annie retired in 1995 after 30 years of service at the Ohio Bell Company. She received an associates degree from the University of Toledo. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera. Annie was an avid bridge player. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, where visitation will be for one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Rev. Alois Schmitzer III will officiate and burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Madison Twp., Hancock County.
