Goldie was the 3rd child of 7 born to John Lawrence & Carrie (Converse) Roberts in MN.

The 1900 MN census has her birth date as Dec. 1885 in MN vs her death record which says Dec 1886. She usually reported her birth year as 1888 (her sister, Maude, misreported her birth year too-smile).

Her sister, Maude & husband came out to California about 1906 and Goldie & most of the siblings soon followed.

Family recollections: Her brother, Arleigh, said Goldie was a beautiful woman and had many boyfriends before she married. She was fairly tall for those times, about 5'6 or 7. She was a favorite with her nephews & nieces.

Goldie married Oliver W. "O.W." Kay about 1908, probably in Butte county, CA. The family reported that OW was a really nice person. The census says he was a mining engineer. They had no children and were divorced sometime between 1930 and 1936.

Sometime during those 6 years she married her 2nd husband, Robert L. Hunter. He was a salesman. They registered to vote in 1936 in Alameda Co., CA. About 1948 they lived in Redwood City, CA and I remember visiting them around that time. He was a real estate salesman then and handled some large estate sales.
