Fallen Graver (shared account with his wife)

Graduate of Cornell Univerity (BS), University of Idaho (MS), and attended The Ohio State University (PhD program, completed all but dissertation before having to report for USMC training). Member of Alpha Gamma Rho, Zeta Chapter.

Loved animals (especially dogs and horses), Standardbred Harness Racing, nature, music, museums, geneology/graving, the Brooklyn (and LA, but not as much) Dodgers, fishing, reading, and many other interests. He was generous to charities, especially those promoting human rights, adoption of retired racing dogs and horses, and protecting nature.

While studying statistical genetics, David found a knack for programming and networks. After college, he worked for some very early entries into the custom application development field, some of which also ran the programs for small businesses with no in-house hardware. The next phase was adding systems design and sales as computers became more affordable for businesses to own. Eventually, he found a long-time workplace home at Nationwide until illness forced his disability, so he never retired.

He was first diagnosed with cancer in 2009 and had been in treatment until the month before his peaceful passing at home on his farm south of Mount Vernon.

Because he never got to travel outside the Lower 48 states as he had planned, small amounts of his ashes were retained for scattering in beautiful locations around the world, as per his last wishes. So far, this has been carried out by his three sisters in Papua New Guinea. The largest portion are interred in the grave on this memorial. Other scattering is planned for the future.
