Harriette Elizabeth Carnrike was born in Elmira New Yor May 16, 1845, and passed away Jan 30, 1822 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. B. Chase in Wakefield, Neb..

To this union were born eight childrenall of whom survive her, also one stepdaughter, and were at her bedside when she passed to her reward..

Frank H. Spencer, Knapp, Wisonsin; Dora M. Cooley, University Place, Nebraska; George A. Spencer, Anoka, Minnesota, Lillian E. Smith, Hudson, Wisconsin; Leona M. Chase, Ida I. Barto, Della Barto, and Edgar E. Spencer, all of Wakefield and Mary Harris of South Sioux City. She also leaves sixteen Grandchildren and seven great grandchildren to mourn her loss..

She united with the M. E. church when but a girl and lived a faithful devoted mother and a friend to all who knew her..
