Robert Hogge died at his home in Lake View Wednesday evening last week, He had been in poor health the past few years.

Funeral rites for Mr. Hogge were conducted from the local Methodist Church Saturday afternoon with Rev. Eugene Rasmussen in charge.

Music was furnished by Mr. Eugene Christian, soloist, with Mrs. Eugene Christian at the organ. Flowers were arranged by Mrs. Ross Eldridge and Mrs. Sam Rodman.

Casket attendants were Leonard Drilling, Fay McClintock, Charles Raine, Vincent O'Brien, Forrest McClintock and Arnold Ziegman. Burial was in Ferguson cemetery with Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Robert Hogge was born June 26, 1877 in County Antrum, Cork,Ireland. He came as a young boy with his parents, Samuel and Elizabeth Wilson Hogge, to a farm near Arcadia, Iowa. Some years later they bought their home southeast of Lake View.

In 1899 he was married to Minnie Mae Stokes and in 1904 they moved to the Hogge homestead four miles east of Lake View. To this union was born one daughter, Ruby.

In 1919 he retired and moved to Lake View where he managed the Albert Dickinson popcorn elevator. Later they moved back to the farm and lived there until illness prevented him from farming.

He was married July 7, 1952 to Clara Momsen, and moved into the home where he died. He is survived by his wife, Clara, his daughter, Mrs. Ruby Coyne, a granddaughter, Marjorie Gronemeyer and three grandchildren; and a brother John of Onawa.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mrs. Christine Stokes of Sac City, Mrs. Margaret Webster, Lake View and Samuel Hogge of Lake City
