Owen S. Kimble (1876 - 1953 ) of Louisville has been inducted into the Kentucky Bicycle Hall of Fame. He began racing in 1894 and won nearly all of the Kentucky races. Kimble turned pro in 1895. He placed second in a National Championship race at the Fountain Ferry Bicycle Track in 1896. By 1898, he was known as "Old Kaintuck". In this year he won the two mile National Championship setting a new record and won the quarter-mile National Championship as well. He also was the unofficial national champion for that year. In 1899, Kimble managed the Fountain Ferry Track as well as raced. In 1903 he was invited to race in Europe where he defeated all the European champions and won the Prix des Adieux.
