James Ella Brooking was the daughter of Catherine "Kate" Crabtree & her first husband. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to garner any information about Mr. Brooking. James Ella married Samuel Greg Negley July 27, 1907 in Ballard County, Kentucky. She and Mr. Negley were the parents of three sons and two daughters: Freda Glada Negley, James Farrow Negley, Harmon Foster Negley, Ehlman Farley Negley and Amanda Frances Negley.
