Charles Glen Benfield Sr.,66, of 517 Triangle Rd. let go of his loving wife's hand and took the hand of his Lord and Savior while being surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday (Feb. 26, 2014) at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00PM Sunday (March 2, 2014) at Citty Funeral Home and burial will follow in Greenview Cemetery.
A native of Reidsville, he was a son of the late Charles Glen and Ailene Frye Benfield and had lived in Reidsville all of his life. Charles was a member of Community Baptist Church, was retired from Ball Metal and served as the Shop Steward with local 391 of the Teamster's Union.
Surviving are his wife: Sharlene Land Benfield of the home; sons: Glen Benfield Jr., Brian Benfield & wife: Melissa, Lee Peterman, Steven Peterman and wife: Kim, Ryan Benfield and wife: Sharon, & Nick Benfield all of Reidsville; step-daughter: Dr. Royce Bargus of OK; brothers: Mitch Myrick and wife: Bev & Donnie Myrick and wife: Debbie all of Reidsville; sisters: Helen Cassada, Jean Turner, Christine "Glenda" Shoemaker, & Pat McGee all of Reidsville; 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandson.
