Found in The State 28 November 1935 (the obituary is very faded and difficult to read, the following interpretation may be incorrect): Mrs. Grace Hopkins, wife of Dr. James R. Hopkins, died at her residence in Hopkins yesterday afternoon after a long illness. Mrs. Hopkins was the daughter of Sarah Adams Clarkson and Edward McGrady. She was born January 7, 1869, and was therefore 66 years of age. She was a lifelong resident of Richland county. She is survived by her husband; one son, Thomas David Hopkins; eight grandchildren, James R., Jr., Thomas D., Jr., Porcher, Hasell, Que., Paul, Davis and Marion; one sister, Mrs. Hubert Clayton and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hopkins was a member of Hopkins Presbyterian church. She leaves a large number of friends who will regret her passing. Funeral services will be conducted today at 12 o'clock noon at the graveside in Elmwood cemetery by the Rev. F. Ray Riddle.
