Found in The State 28 November 1935 (the obituary is very faded and difficult to read, the following interpretation may be incorrect): Mrs. Grace Hopkins, wife of Dr. James R. Hopkins, died at her residence in Hopkins yesterday afternoon after a long illness. Mrs. Hopkins was the daughter of Sarah Adams Clarkson and Edward McGrady. She was born January 7, 1869, and was therefore 66 years of age. She was a lifelong resident of Richland county. She is survived by her husband; one son, Thomas David Hopkins; eight grandchildren, James R., Jr., Thomas D., Jr., Porcher, Hasell, Que., Paul, Davis and Marion; one sister, Mrs. Hubert Clayton and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hopkins was a member of Hopkins Presbyterian church. She leaves a large number of friends who will regret her passing.
