Pvt. Thomas K. Garrett joined Capt. John T. Boykin's Company F of the 21st Georgia Infantry on July 9th, 1861 at Antioch, Troup County, Georgia serving in the Civil War for the Confederate States of America (C.S.A.).
Pvt. Garrett was Killed In Action(K.I.A.) on the 1st day of the second Battle of Bull Run. That battle lasted from Aug 28th-30th, 1862. His brother, George Washington Garrett Jr, also served in the same infantry as his brother & he was wounded the same day, same battle as Thomas.

He was the son of George Washington and Julia Ann (Turman) Garrett, Sr.
