Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Congregation Beth Israel at the Tri City Jewish Center, Rock Island. Burial is at the Hebrew Cemetery, Rock Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to Congregation Beth Israel, Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities or to the American Cancer Society.
Beverly Ann Shapiro was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Monmouth, Ill., a daughter of Harry and Freda Slaterdowsky Shapiro. She married Marvin S. Andich on May 27, 1948, in Davenport.
She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel at the Tri City Jewish Center, Pioneer Women-Na'amat, B'nai B'rith Women, the Beth Israel Sisterhood, Rock Island County Bar Association Auxiliary and the Jewish Federation L'Chaim program. Beverly served as an election judge for many years and in earlier years was active in the Audubon School P.T.A. and was a Cub Scout den leader. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies. Beverly loved playing Mah Jong and gardening.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin; children (and spouses), Stephen (Marla) Andich, Rock Island, Susan (Dan) Horan, Chicago, and Alan (Mary) Andich, Belleville, Ill.; grandchildren, Dori (Jonathan) McGhee, Sarah Andich, Lucy Andich, Sadie Horan, Genevieve Horan, Fraya Andich, and Elliott Andich; and great-grandchildren, Aleja and Xavier McGhee. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Irwin and Marvin Shapiro.
