Most researchers cite 'Elizabeth' as the middle name; however, Lucinda had a sister named Elizabeth (or Eliza); therefore, it seems unlikely that she ... too ... would have been given that middle name. All documentation found to date cites either 'Lucinda E' or just 'L E'; and a precise middle name is undocumented in any known records. The name 'Ellender' was given repeatedly to subsequent family members ... including Lucinda's own daughter & a g-daughter; therefore it is very likely that it was Lucinda's middle name as well. Lucinda was sometimes known either by 'Cinda' or by 'Ellen' as a nickname.

Known Patterson children who have not been found -or- have not been linked:

William F Patterson (1854 - 1854)

(Martin)James A Patterson (1857 - ???? but after 1880 and reported by some sources to be in or near Abilene, Taylor Co, Texas)

Joel Dibrell Patterson (1874 - ???? but after 1930 and reported by some sources in 1940, Tulsa, Oklahoma ... this the first known use of the given name 'Dibrell'; and it is assumed that the origin is in honor of H D W's former commanding Gen George Dibrell, CSA)

Some biographical data supplied by Cathy Cadd (31 May 2010)
-and- a manuscript Patterson-Harrison (&other) Family Histories compiled by Edna Earle Fleming Patterson for the Lady Washington Chapter of the DAR (1972)
