He was born October 2, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, to Hubert and Emra Snider Allen. He and Kathryn Partington Schumacker were married April 1, 2004 in Chester, lll.
Buddy was a graduate of Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau. He worked 25 years as a heavy equipment operator for Peabody Coal Company in Sparta, IL, retiring in 1998. He and Kathy moved from Perryville to Jackson in 2012.
Buddy enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a member of Perryville AM Vets and Perryville Country Club.
Loving survivors include his wife, Kathy Allen of Jackson; two children, Buddy (Julie) Allen II of Pevely, Mo., Penny Allen of Perryville, Mo.; three stepchildren, Tom (Torrie) Schumacker of Jackson, Jeff Schumacker of St. Louis, and Jaclyn Schumacker and fiancee, Jason Hawk of Chester, Ill.; a granddaughter, Jordan Allen; two step-grandchildren, Tyler and Trenton Schumaker; and a sister, Linda (Tom) Livesay of Ballwin, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 5 from 9:30 AM to service time, at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. A family friend, Ruben Owen will officiate a memorial service at 11 AM, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Immediately following Team Delta will provide full military honors.
Inurnment will be private at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Missouri Veterans Home Foundation (Cape Girardeau).
