Stewart M. Reed, 33, ex-Portland resident and son of Thaxter Reed, 393 Jarrett street, member of the Portland fire department, died in Woodland, Cal., Sunday night of injuries suffered December 17 when the automobile he was driving to Portland for the Christmas holidays ran off the highway near Woodland. The body will be brought to Portland and funeral services will be held in the chapel of Edward Holman & Son at 2:30 P. M. tomorrow. Interment will be in Rose City cemetery. Mr. Reed came to Portland with his family in 1911, and attended Woodlawn grade school and Jefferson high school. For ten years he had lived in San Francisco and was clerk at the California hotel there. He was born in Oshkosh, Wis. His wife, Helen, was already in Portland at the time of the accident, and returned to California to be with him. Survivors include the widow, his father and a brother, Thaxter Reed Jr., of Portland.
