According to the 1940 Federal Census Angus B completed up to a 3rd grade education.

His 1st marriage was to Lena Curry she died after giving birth to a daughter who was named after her. At the time of her death Angus is a soldier at Camp Taylor, Ky;, in Company G, 335th Infantry, and was among the first Madison men to enter the service under the selective system. Their daughter, Lena Hammond was raised by her maternal grandparents Thomas & Ada Smith Curry. She is found with them in the 1920 & 1930 Federal Census.

2nd union was with Alli Mae Hackney, do not know if they were ever married but resulted in the birth of a son, Joseph Hammond.

3rd marriage to Doris Brown resulted in 3 daughters.

His death was due to a heart attack
