Regina was the daughter of Jacob and Johanna W. Elmer. Jacob was born in Switzerland and Johanna was born in Germany. In 1920 Regina was living with her parents in West Clear Lake, Skagit County, Washington. Jacob was a dairy farmer. In 1930 Regina was living with her parents in Carlsborg, Clallam County, Washington.

Regina Elmer married Louis Sofie in 1930. Louis was first married to Virginia Deloris Smales. In 1940 Regina and Louis were living at Blyn, Clallam County, Washington. Louis was a dairy farmer.

"Regina Sofie, 55, resident of Sequim for many years, died in Sacramento, Sunday. Funeral service will be held, Friday, at Kern Funeral Chapel in Mt. Vernon. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs. Sofie was born in Mt. Vernon, June 14, 1912. She lived most of her life in Sequim, operating Sofie's Grill there.

She is survived by her husband, Louis of Sequim, two daughters, Mrs. Mina Osborn, Federal Way, Mrs. Mae Mueller, Spokane, four sons, Robert, Long Beach, Calif., Jack, Sacramento, Louis Jr., Seattle, and John Sofie, Seattle. A sister, Mrs. Eugene Swanson, Mt. Vernon, two brothers, Rudolph Elmer, Port Angeles, and Raymond Elmer, San Diego and 16 grandchildren."
