Raymond E. Downham, 76, Anderson, died Wednesday at St. John's Medical Center. He was born Nov. 28, 1915 in Elwood. He retired in 1976 from Delco Remy Division. He was employed for 36 years in the tool room. He was a member of the Colonial United Methodist Church, and was a United Methodist layspeaker. He was also a member of the Fellowship Masonic Lodge 681 F.&A.M., Quincy Masonic Lodge 230 before transferring to Fellowship U.A. W. Local 662, Delco Remy Camera Club, an Army Veteran of World War II, ,. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Martha (Copeland) Downham; three sons, John Downham of Elwood, William Wilson of Griffith, Ga., and Lloyd Downham of Daleville; two daughters, Barbara McClintock and Carolyn King, both of Anderson; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Colonial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dennis Hensley will officiate. Burial will be in the Elwood City Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Robert D. Loose Funeral Home in Anderson and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. A masonic memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial United Methodist Church.
