South Central Kentucky has lost a leading citizen and Russell County one of her most beloved citizens. He was the patriarch of a highly distinguished family, with members in Russell and Adair Counties of South Central Kentucky and elsewhere. He was a long time Russell County physician and a member of the First Baptist Church of Russell Springs. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Pettey Peck. He leaves 17 direct living descendants

Dr. Charles E. Peck, 83, of Russell Springs, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral services for Dr. Charles E. Peck will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, 392 E Kentucky 80, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Jeff Griffin and Bro. Jeff Eaton officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT/6pmET, Wednesday, November 13, 2013, after 9amCT/10amET, Thursday at the church. Burial in the Russell Springs City Cemetery. Special Music will be by First Baptist Church Choir.

Active Pallbearers: Adam Ellis, Bryon Ellis, Blake Ellis, Greg Peck, Patrick Huston, and Chris Huston.

He was born Thursday, December 26, 1929 in McCracken Co., KY. He was the son of the late Clyde & Laddus Lancaster Peck. He died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 83 years, 10 months, and 17 days.

He was a long time Russell County physician and a member of the First Baptist Church of Russell Springs.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Peck and a sister, Deloris Peck.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Pettey Peck, and the following: •Four children: Paul Peck, Columbia, KY; Teresa (Keith) Ellis, Russell Springs, KY; Libby (Paul) Huston, Fairfield, Ohio; and John (Susan) Peck, Columbia, KY

•Eleven grandchildren: Adam Ellis, Greg Peck, Amy Ellis, Lindsey Huston, Hannah Peck, Bryon Ellis, Christopher Huston, Emily Peck, Patrick Houston, Aaron Peck, and Blake Ellis

•Two great grandchildren: Ben Peck and Landri Ellis

•A sister: Phyllis Finley, Russell Springs, KY

•Brother: Don (Marilyn) Peck, Frankfort, KY
