Paul Glenford Walker, 83, of Maple Acres Road, Princeton, W.Va., passed away Friday, November 2, 2005 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley ,W.Va. Paul was born on June 18, 1922 in Pinoak, W.Va. to the late Evert Walker and Belva Kester Walker. Paul had been a resident of Maple Acres Road for 50 years was retired from the Vecillo & Grogan Company in Beckley, W.Va. where he was foreman. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WWII where he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of the DAV and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Sigmon Walker; and a brother, Ralph Walker. Survivors include son, Donald Roger Walker and wife, Linda of Roanoke, Va.; grandson, Carey Allen Walker and wife, Teresa of Roanoke, Va.; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel and Gracie Walker; sisters, Velma Bailey and husband, Earl of Pittsburg, Pa., Mae Morgan of Pittsburg, Pa., Ila Tschanz and husband, Chuck of Valdosta, Ga., Ruby Hurst of Lashmeet, W.Va.; brothers, Dewey Walker and wife, Edna of Princeton , W.Va., Cody Walker and wife, Hilda of Pulaski, Va. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 5, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. with Minister Keith Sigmon officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell, W.Va. where Chuck Tschanz, Melvin Thompson, Ricky Hurst, Buck Sigmon, David Walker and Dean Walker will serve as pallbearers and the Mercer County Veterans Council will conduct military graveside rites. The Walker Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of your choice in Memory of Paul Walker. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Walker Family.
