On June 5, 1835 Hans married Louise Dorothea Kluss in the village of Lussow. Hans and Louise had 2 children, the first of whom died in infancy:
1835 - Johann Carl Christoph Becker (died in 1839)
1839 - Johann Christoph Joachim Becker ("Joachim")
Louise died on January 12, 1841, and Hans married for a 2nd time on May 7, 1841 in Lussow to Anna Elisabeth Laatz. Hans and Anna had 2 more children:
1842 - Johann Joachim Carl Becker (remained in Germany)
1845 - Carl Christoph Friederich Becker
Hans's 2nd wife Anna died on March 28, 1867 in Lussow.
In 1870, Han's youngest son Carl emigrated to the United States along with his wife Sophia Engel Becker, and their infant son Johann.
A year later on November 2, 1871, Hans arrived in New York City, along with his 2nd son Joachim Becker, Joachim's wife Sophia Albrecht Becker, their infant son Johann, and a woman named Louise Engel (who was the younger sister of Sophia Engel Becker, mentioned above).
Hans Becker, the Joachim Becker family and Louise Engel, traveled on to Detroit to join Carl & Sophia Becker. Hans lived another 12 years - he passed away on August 15, 1883 - just a few days prior to his 74th birthday.
Hans is buried in a single grave in Section A (lot 840, grave #2). There is a headstone, but it has been laid flat and is mostly covered by grass.
NOTE that the Woodmere Cemetery index card incorrectly shows his death date as August 16 (the headstone correctly shows August 15).
