Newspaper article: He moved to El Paso with this parents and 2 sisters from the Walworth Plantation. His G-G-Grandfather, Thomas William Porcher built the Walworth Plantation in SC when he (Thomas William) married Ellinor Cordes. 1900 Census shows Thomas living with his parents in Ysleta, El Paso, Texas. Also in the home were 3 siblings and an 8 yr old adopted child of his parents (Lila Gaillard).

1930 Census shows Thomas living with wife Daisy, his elderly mother Sarah and sister Ellinor Porcher in El Paso, TX. Daisy was his 2d wife.

1937 El Paso City Directory shows T D and Daisy Porcher living RFD1 Box 185. He was listed as President El Paso County Water Impr Dist No 1.

In 1940, he is still in El Paso, had 4 yrs of college, working a farm on the South Side Of Highway 80 and living with his wife Daisy 58 and sister, Elinor Porcher 65.
