When John Patrick "Jack" Patterson was born on March 30, 1918, in Cook, Illinois, his father, Patrick, was 28 and his mother, Marie, was 27. He married Priscilla Marie Crossette in 1946. They had five children during their marriage. He died on November 7, 1988, in Mount Prospect, Illinois, at the age of 70.

Mass for John Patterson Sr., 70, of Mount Prospect, will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Raymond Church, 300 S. Elmhust Road, Mount Prospect.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
He died Monday at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield.
He was retired office manager for the Capital Companies. A World War II veteran, he was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals. He was past commander of Mount Prospect American Legion Post No. 525 and member of Elmhurst Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include wife Priscilla M; daughters Jeanmarie Marthaler and Frances C. Grund, sons Patrick R., John P and Daniel J; sisters Rita Duffin; brother Thomas; an 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
