Karen Bennick-Calhoun, 42, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 21 in hospice. Karen was a native of Concord, North Carolina and was born on April 21, 1972 to Richard (deceased) and Phyllis Bennick of Concord.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Darrell Calhoun of Round Rock; her children, Timothy Austin Miller (of Concord); Nicholas Ian Carl and Sydney Olivia Carl (both of Round Rock); her mother, Phyllis Allred Bennick (of Concord); her sister, Debra Bennick-Triming (of Concord); and her brother, Barry Keith Bennick (of Mt. Holly).
Karen requested that there be no funeral service. She is to be cremated in Round Rock and her remains will be returned home to Concord in June. A memorial will be planned for her at that time.
In her younger days, Karen attended Concord High School. She enjoyed time with her family and photography. Karen is remembered by her family and friends for her wit, her sense of humor, and her open-mindedness. She will be missed.
