Carlon Chester "C C" Armstrong was born on November 2, 1911 in Trigg County, Kentucky, the son of Joseph Marion "Joe" Armstrong (1882–1965) and Elizabeth Glenn "Eliza" (Chewning) Armstrong (1887–1978).

He was married on October 19, 1935 to Lucy Mary Hinson, who was born on September 2, 1912 and passed away on April 28, 2008.

C C was a US Navy veteran of World War II and was amember of Forest Street Church, where he was the Sunday school superintendent. He was also a member of the Moose and of the American Legion.

Living at 935 Charlotte Street in Clarksville, Tennessee, he was 43 years old, married and was a store clerk at Dave Williams grocery store, when he died at home of cancer on August 15, 1955.

Survivors included his parents, his wife Lucy, sons Wallace Armstrong and Jimmy Armstrong, daughters Dorothy Armstrong, Jean Armstrong and Sue Armstrong of Clarksville, brothers Dr J C Armstrong and Tom Armstrong of Waverly, Tennessee and Raymond Armstrong of Hopkinsville, Tennessee and sisters Mrs Thomas Freeman and Mrs Claude Freeman of Cadiz, Kentucky, Mrs Alfred Hester of Hopkinsville and Mrs Lou Gress of Los Angeles, California.

Funeral Services were held at Forest Street Methodist Church, and burial was on August 16th in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville.
