Chesapeake - James "Jim" Rogers, 64 passed suddenly on February 28th.He was born on January 27, 1950 in Boston, Massachusetts. He moved to Virginia in 1974 when he was transferred by the U.S. Navy to Norfolk Naval Base after returning from two tours of duty in Vietnam. After his service to his country he went to work for the US Postal Service and retired from there. He is survived by his wife, Melissa; sons, Justin and Phillip (PJ); daughters, Alice Pyle and Angela Nishnick; parents, Loretta and Jasper Rogers; three sisters, Patricia Eckhart, Marilyn Meyers and Susan Burnett; grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved his family and country and as everyone knows was a true Boston Red Sox fan.The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel on Wednesday, March 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family at: www.hollomon-brown.com
