Albert was born to Andrew Cahoon and Margaret Barr Carruth. He had seven siblings: Andrew Alonzo, John Pulaski, Reynolds, Daniel Farrington, Maria Antoinette, Margaret Melissa, and Lucy Caroline. Albert married Eloisa McCauston on the 13 May 1885 in Soccoro, New Mexico. They had one daughter, Leona. Albert later married Mary Clark on 28 January 1890 in Murray, Utah. Albert died in Murray, Utah and is buried in the Murray Cemetery.
