A true Virginia Gentleman. Bud graduated with a B.S.in Business Administration from the University of Richmond (UR) with honors in 1965, and served 4 years in the Army National Guard. He was a successful entrepreneur, starting his own company in 1979. He served on the UR Board of Associates, the Executive Advisory Council-Robins School of Business, the School of Continuing Studies Advisory Board, as the Annual Fund Vice-Chairman and then Chairman, served as a University Trustee, was on the Executive Committee and was President of Robins School of Business Alumni Association. He received the UR Alumni Award for Distinguished Service in 1998. Bud was also a Certified General and Family Mediator for the Virginia Supreme Court, where he was a Family Mediator for Juvenile Domestic Relations Court, and also a Private General and Family Mediator. He was a member of the Association of Conflict Resolution of both the Virginia Mediation Network and Central Virginia Mediation Network. Bud served on the Board of Directors for the Draper Aden Associates, the UR Board of Associates and Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors Executive Committee and Chairman of the Nominating Committee for the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) Hospitality House. Bud also was the Chairman Foundation Board of the Westminster Canterbury Center in Richmond, and also served in the Center's Admissions Committee . In 2013, he received the Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans Award for Distinguished Volunteer Leadership Service at Westminster Canterbury. Bud was a longtime member of the Country Club of Virginia, and belonged to thecongregation of Manakin Episcopal Church for over 40 years, where he was a Lay Reader. He also served as a Search Consultant for and was on the Diocese Executive Board of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia. He was a good friend to all.
