Madeline V. Bennett Langford, 80, of River Bend Rd. Lost Creek passed away at 2:38 am on Thursday, March 6, 2014 in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston following an extended illness.

She was born in Gilmer County on February 13, 1934 a daughter of Scott Deward Bennett and Marqueritta Post Bennett.

She is survived by five children: Charles Robert Langford and wife Monica of Good Hope, Daniel Bryan Langford and wife Janet of Lost Creek, Joyce Elaine Ward and husband Carl of Good Hope, Robert W. Langford and companion Debbie of Elyria OH, and Cheryl Lynne Riffle and husband Charles of Jane Lew; 15 grandchilderen; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Paralee R. Wissinger and two brothers: Henry P. Bennett and Joseph Scott Bennett.

Madeline had worked at the Jane Lew Glass Factory, the Louie Glass Factory, and later at Heartland Nursing Home. She enjoyed gardening and canning, quilting and sewing, listening to Country and Bluegrass music and sitting with the elderly.
She was a member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church.

Friends and family will gather at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 5-8 pm on Sunday March 9, 2014. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday with Reverend Ronald Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Stalnaker Cemetery in Glenville.
