MRS. AZILDA A. TAILLON
Mrs. Azilda A. Taillon, 83, of 122 Hull Street, widow of Zoel Taillon, a resident of this city for more than 70 years, died at the Bristol Hospital at 2:15 o'clock this afternoon, following a short illness. Three weeks ago she suffered a fall at her home, breaking her hip. She was removed to the hospital following the accident, but her health was impaired and during the past week she grew gradually weaker.
Mrs. Taillon was born in Mystic, Quebec, Canada, February 5, 1857, the daughter of John Baptiste and Julia Lareau Landry. As a young girl she removed to Bristol, the family being one of the first French-Canadian families to settle in the town.
For a number of years she worked at the E. Ingraham Company. On October 2, 1888, she was married in St. Joseph's Church by the late Rev. Fr. Michael B. Roddan to Zoel Taillon who died in Bristol 12 years ago.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church for some years. When St. Ann's Church was founded, she transferred her membership to that church, being one of the charter members.
She is survived by two daughters, Miss Estelle M. Taillon and Miss Corinne A. Taillon; one son, Henry E. Taillon; two grandsons, Kendall and Donald Taillon; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Valentine and Mrs. Alma Giguere; one brother, Joseph P. Landry, and several nieces and nephews, all of this city.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
