Barbara Brooks Robie was reared upon the farm that her family worked, at the SW corner of Ohio Route 98 and Monnett-New Winchester School in Crawford County, Ohio. She was a member of the 1940 Kirkpatrick Girls Basketball Team who won the Marion County Championship with an undefeated record and played to packed houses during the 1939-1940 season. Their record was never bested, at the end of the season, Marion County rural schools ended girls competitive sports. She was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, wife, and mother.
