Ethel married George (G.C.) Harrington on March 3, 1947, in Ft. Smith, AR. She lived in the Harrah & McLoud area since 1974. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, McLoud, OK. Ethel was a homemaker and her hobbies included fishing, crocheting, raising her vegetable & flower gardens and she loved to cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, G.C. and one sister, Sylvetty.
Survivors include children: Patsy & Richard Blemmel; Shirley & Kenneth Bailey; Kathern & Bernie Freeman, all of McLoud; Kenneth Harrington & Genevieve Williams, both of Del City, OK. Also surviving are grandchildren: Angela Hudson, Lisa Fields, Duwayne Bailey, Kim Catchings, Mike Harrington, Bernice Grimes, Christine Burk, Laura Harrington-Foster, Heather Ward & Amy Grijalva. Ethel leaves 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Services took place on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, McLoud, OK. Interment followed at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, OK with a traditional Native American burial. Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK was in charge of arrangements. Officiating the services were Bro. James Bond and Bro. Donnie Bond.
Pallbearers were: Duwayne Bailey, Robbie Catchings, Thad Burk, Jerry Grimes, Kyle Turner & Greg Block. Honorary pallbearers were grandson: Mike Harrington, Dalton Harrington, Tanner Harrington, Gavin Grimes, Casey Hudson, Todd Ward, Kevin Foster, Miguel Grijalva & Brogen Isbell.
The family would like to thank Angelic Hospice; Dr Vivek Bhaktaram and the staff at the McLoud Nursing Home. We appreciate all you have done for Ms. Ethel during her last journey on earth. Ethel is gone from our sight, but will forever be in our hearts.
