AIKEN - Mr. Arthur Leroy Blystone Sr., 78, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Mr. Blystone, a native of North Apollo, PA, had retired as a Panama Canal Zone federal police officer. He was an Army veteran of World War II and had received a Purple Heart. He was a charter member and former vice president of National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a former member of Knights of Columbus, Monsignor G.L. Smith Council and Cardinal Cooke Council, Augusta. He was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Z. Arruda Blystone; two sons, Charles Blystone and Marvin Blystone, both of Aiken; five brothers, Armour Blystone, Sarver, PA., Leland Blystone, Avon Lake, Ohio, Ronald Blystone, Apollo, PA., Robert Blystone, Jacksonville, Fla., and James Blystone, Los Angeles; three sisters, Louise Gordon, spring Church, Pa., Marjorie Goe, Cleveland, Ohio, and Helen Carney, Apollo; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
