STURGIS — Margie Marie Burkins Hughes, 66, Sturgis, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

She was a homemaker and member of Sturgis Church of God in Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Marshall W. Hughes Sr.; and her parents, Leroy Burkins Sr. and Evelyn Cruse George Burkins.

Survivors include two daughters, Crystal Boyland and Cabrina Hughes, both of Henderson; four sons, Marshall Hughes Jr., Michael Hughes and Chris Hughes, all of Sturgis, and Melvin Hughes of Morganfield; one sister, Delores Weathers of Sturgis; two brothers, Warren "Bobby" Burkins of Henderson and Leroy Burkins Jr. of Sturgis; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Salem Baptist Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Harlen Armstead will officiate. Burial will be in New Salem Baptist Cemetery.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
