~LET ALL WHO VISIT BE BLESSED WITH JOY, LOVE AND PEACE~

TaShawn Smith was surrounded by her fellow brothers in arms as she said goodbye to her two children -- ages five and six -- during funeral services at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, March 28, 2014.

Amaya Smith and her little brother, Nicholaus Epps, were brought down a historic east-side street on a horse-drawn carriage, as their mother watched on from a wheelchair. The two siblings died as a result of a head-on car crash on N.W. Loop 410 on March 7th.

TaShawn Smith was severely injured in the wreck and has undergone surgical procedures to repair her legs. The two-time war veteran is an active U.S. Army reservist currently serving at Ft. Sam Houston.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow,

I am the sun on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circling flight.

I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there; I did not die.
