Mrs. Alta Selina Hord, 86, widow of Edgar Hord, and a resident of the Smith Guest Home, 305 East Adams Street, for the last five years, died there at 5:55 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Christmas Day.

Mrs. Hord was born June 27, 1877, at Ashland, the daughter of David and Laura Rutledge Horton. She was married to Mr. Hord at Springfield, December 27, 1899. He preceded her in death March 22, 1953. A resident of this city for the last 60 years, coming here from Ashland, Mrs. Hord was a member of the Davis Memorial Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Ernest and Lew Hord, both of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Pickard, this city; Mrs. Homer (Helen) Corzine of Mattoon; Mrs. Forest (Ruth) Showalter, Edinburg; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Shafer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Day, pastor of the Davis Memorial Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 o'clock tonight, and until the hour of the services Friday.
