Lydia was the sixth child born to George Lee Tomlinson and Eliza Delancy Tomlinson on August 20, 1856 in Rome, Floyd County, Georgia. Lydia was named after her paternal grandmother, Lydia Johnson Tomlinson. She married William Robert Bivins in 1874 and together they had eight children. She died on March 14, 1924 in Litchfield, Montgomery County, Illinois and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield.
