---------------------------------------------------------------------

Virginia's funeral was held in the large old Catholic Church in Opelousas where her entire family were connected to. The church was packed, she was a very popular school teacher. The children were seated in the balcony upstairs. The adults directly under the balcony said that they were soaked in the tears of the children above them. These "children" today talk about her as if she just left the room. When her papers were looked at after her death they found that she was buying shoes for children without any, dresses for her students and even prom dresses. To Virginia they were her children.
