Mrs. Freida Grant, age 76, a resident of the Dry Hill community of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Rockwood.
She was born November 23, 1937 in Rockwood, Tennessee to Clontz Yancy White and Mary Magdalene Stout White.
Mrs. Grant was a member of the Mt. Teman Baptist Church in Rockwood.
She loved playing the piano and being a Substitute Teacher at the Pine View Elementary School in Cumberland County, Tennessee.
Mrs. Grant was also a devoted wife and mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Hiram Franklin "Buddy" Grant; sisters, Louise Rickard and Mary Frances Grant; brother Jim Lane; and son-in-law, John Treadway.
Survivors include Children Gene Grant & wife, Julie of Alamogordo, NM Albert Grant & wife, Joy of Rockwood, TN Willie Grant & wife, Pam of Crossville, TN Rosie Treadway of Rockwood, TN Mona Bryant & husband, Doug of Rockwood, TN 13 Grandchildren 20 Great Grandchildren Brothers Noel White & wife, Linda of Rockwood, TN Danny White of AZ Sister Becky Rucker & husband, John of Rockwood, TN And several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary.
Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Ted Halcomb officiating.
Family and friends will meet on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dry Hill Cemetery in Rockwood for graveside services and interment.
