Elizabeth LaVerne Blackburn, 79, of Olney passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Burgin Manor in Olney surrounded by her family.

LaVerne was born on March 5, 1935 in Richland County, IL, the daughter of August J. and Francis (Schneider) Weiler.

She married L. Richard Blackburn on March 17, 1956 in Decatur, IL.

They have five children, eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Byron Weiler and wife, Virginia; sister, Mary Hahn and husband, Ray; sister, Pauline Hahn; sister, Millie Vail and husband, Bill; brother-in-law Joe Moran; and brother-in-law Jack Lewis.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Foundation Trust, to be used for the new school. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, March 18 at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. The funeral will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, March 19 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.
