There was little merriment here tonight as mourners returned home from the funeral of one the community's most beloved youthful citizens, only to learn that his sledding accident companion had expired in Greene County Memorial Hospital as they returned to their homes. The death call cast out over this small borough Thursday night by the death of Kelyn Honsaker, 16, deepened this evening at 6:30 o'clock, when Hugh Baily, 20, bugle sergeant in the Cadet drum and bugle corps and one of the most popular younger residents of the district, died in the hospital where he had been receiving treatments for a fracture of the skull, possible internal injuries and other injuries. Baily, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ruby Baily, died in the Waynesburg Hospital without regaining consciousness following an accident near Carmichaels last Thursday night. Baily and Honsaker were said to have been enroute to their homes here about nine o'clock when they were struck by a car operated by Mrs. Louelia Baily McDermott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baily. While actual facts of the collision will probably never be known, the state police said that the youths were returning home from a sledding party and were struck by the car.
