Neil Dale Campo, of La Grande, Oregon, passed away on Saturday March 15, 2014 at Grande Ronde Hospital at the age of 81. A graveside service was held at the Elgin Cemetery.

Neil was born May 18, 1932 to Andrew Jackson Campo and Viola Minnie Freeze Campo in Mannsville, Oklahoma.

He moved to Vallejo, California when he was twelve years old. He graduated from high school there, after which he entered into military service with the United States Army. His tour was from 1949 to 1952, during which time he served in the Korean Conflict.

Neil was married to Ann for a few years. In 1956, he married Virginia D. Tucker in New Mexico. Virginia preceded him in death in 1972.

Neil owned his own septic tank and Roto Rooter business. After retiring from his business, he worked as a bus driver for the state of Washington.

Neil was very active with the VFW in Enumclaw, Washington. As far as his civilian life goes, he was an avid bowler and golfer. Neil was a volunteer contributor for Find-A-Grave for over four years.

Neil was survived by his children Ron (Merideth) Campo of Snohomish, Washington; Tonya (Ted) Frick of South Prairie, Washington; Neilla (Tracy) Edgar of Phelan, California; Jay Campo of Carlsbad, California; Andy Campo of Elgin, Oregon; Neil (Robin) Campo Jr. of Millcreek, Washington; brother Corgian Campo of Clear Lake, California; sister Christeen Deal of Boise, Idaho; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Neil was preceded in death by his wife Virginia D. Tucker; children Kay Campo, Paul Campo, and Darren Campo; his siblings, Laquietta Like, A.J. Campo, Jannette Pease, Charleen Board, Sherry Wise, and Darrel Campo.
